Are you ready to start your weekend with a zesty, heart-healthy kick? Tomato juice is high in vitamins and minerals. The main organic compound in the tomato is lycopene, which gives the tomato its red color and has been found to have antioxidant and cancer-preventing properties.
This drink is seriously good in its own right, but if you must add a slug of vodka, I promise not to tell.
Let’s have a sip together, shall we? Cheers!
“May all your drinks be heart-healthy drinks with friends.”

Virgin Mary
3 cups tomato juice (low-sodium if possible)
1 T. Worcestershire sauce
2 T. lemon juice
1/2 t. ground nutmeg
3 drops hot pepper sauce
12 ice cubes
2 lemon slices, halved
Salt and pepper to taste
Put the tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, nutmeg, and hot-pepper sauce in a large pitcher and stir to combine. Blend the ice cubes in a blender for 30 seconds, or until the ice is crushed to 1/2 cup. Pour the tomato juice mixture into 4 glasses and add the crushed ice and lemon slices. Season with salt and pepper. Makes 4 small glasses.
