Fitness, Style and Hair Ties

Every time the month of July rolls around, I come to the realization that I loathe the idea of blow-drying my hair. The air conditioner could be blowing cold air at full-blast, but it still seems like the process leaves me in a sweat. Not only is the process time-consuming, it seems like I need a third arm to accomplish a decent style. Since I don’t have a third arm, I need intervention.
Fortunately, the wonders of modern society have brought such intervention with hair salons that specifically offer a salon blow-out and style. Regular hair salons offer this service too, but in my experience, if scissors and color aren’t a part of the creative process, I’m left to deal with an annoyed stylist. Alternatively, at a blow-out salon, my stylist and I are both left happy with my clean and styled hair.
For those of us who make fitness a priority, a salon blow-out can be a challenge to incorporate into a workout schedule. When planning a workout, is it best to immediately schedule a blow-out after a good sweat? After a salon blow-out, is it a waste of money to workout again the next day? What’s the best way to avoid sweaty hair or putting a hairband “dent” in that fabulous style?
The days of the hair scrunchy are long gone. Regular hairbands can pull and feel uncomfortable. Plus, they don’t always hold hair in place when doing plyometric jump squats and downward dog yoga moves. Wouldn’t it be great if there was something available that would solve these fitness and style predicaments?
Luckily, there’s a chic new hair tie in town. They have various brand names, and they come in a variety of colors to match any workout outfit. Depending on the size, they can secure a pony tail or they can also be used as a headband. If you want to take it off your head, it’s comfortable enough to wear around your wrist, and it won’t cut off your circulation!
These new hair ties are colorful, fresh and modern. Best of all, they won’t put a dent or crease in your fabulous hairstyle.
Have you tried these new hair ties? What do you think of them? I’d love to hear from you in the comment section.
