My recent road trip to the Sierras meant preparing for cold, dry mountain air. Cold weather can wreak havoc on my skin and cause dry, chapped lips. This winter excursion was the perfect time for me to put my newly discovered healthy lip balm to the test.
Lip balms are products I continually purchase. When I discover a sheer, soothing lip balm that tastes good, I need more than one. A lip balm is sometimes the consolation gift I purchase, when my shoe shopping mojo is off kilter.
Bottom line, I just hate chapped lips. I’ve learned that most of the waxy products I slather on my lips include ingredients that make the condition worse. Ingredients like Camphor, Menthol and Petroleum wick moisture and block airflow.
Fortunately, I found an innovative company that produces a top-notch, 100% guaranteed healthy lip balm. Their products are Gluten-free, Soy-free, Corn-free, GMO-free and Vegan. This Texas-based company is called Red Apple Lipstick.
I put their combination Rallye Balm™ Gluten Free Lip Balm + Red Apple Gluten Free Exfoliate Stick to the test. The exfoliate stick, used first, feels a little bit gritty, but not harsh or hard. I used it as I would a lipstick, gently “scrubbed” my lips with it, rinsed with water and patted dry. The next step was hydration with Rallye Balm™. Rallye Balm™ is loaded with high quality, Gluten-free Castor Seed Oil and Vitamin E.
During my trip, and since then, these two products have become my constant friends. My lips look and feel smooth. To keep your lips healthy this winter, stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and become friends with Rallye Balm™ Gluten Free Lip Balm + Red Apple Gluten Free Exfoliate Stick. You’ll be glad you did!

For a while I strayed away from my usual and tried out the various lip balms out there. The results were disappointing. Several dry lips later, I am back to the basics – good old fashioned vaseline. I haven’t had a chapped lip in years. I always like to keep it simple

Petroleum jelly, a derivative of oil refining, is generally regarded as safe, Mashal. However, some recent research suggests that components removed from the oil during the refining process are considered carcinogenic or toxic. Opting for a more natural alternative is safe and effective.
