The holidays are right around the corner. Santa may not be carrying a little jewelry box down your chimney this year, but you can ask for a practical and useful stocking-stuffer or gift that won’t break your hubby’s bank.
Maybe you don’t need a new diamond ring…or a tennis bracelet…or a diamond necklace…or diamond earrings. (Says who?!) What you actually want is a way to make your bling look brand spankin’ new!
Here’s the deal: when your bling isn’t clean, it doesn’t look as shiny, or as big. It just looks dull and smudged. Ewwww.
You want Ice, Ice, Baby!
So, what do you do? You’ve got great options, but leaving your bling with a jeweler to be professionally cleaned shouldn’t be one of them. It can be time-consuming, costly, and in the worst case, an unnerving experience.
Years ago, one of my friends took her engagement ring to a jeweler to be cleaned. It dawned on her, days later, when she glanced at her left hand on the steering wheel while driving, that her diamond didn’t shine the way it used to. She realized the jeweler had snagged her diamond and replaced it with a dull Cubic Zirconia!
If you are looking for a way to safely clean your ring (and avoid getting C.Z.’d like my friend) I have a solution for you. You can clean your ring like a pro in the privacy of your own home, in just a few short minutes with two simple tools. I promise you it’s easy, it’s not too expensive, and it’s another great way to maintain your investment.
Here are two easy ways to Clean Your Bling:
- An inexpensive tool to keep in your handbag or suitcase is the Connoisseur Diamond Dazzle Stick. The Dazzle stick is a twist-to-dispense click pen that easily cleans your bling. You will need a little tap water to wet the brush and then rinse off your jewelry, and a small cloth to dry it before wearing. (Lesson learned: Don’t use this dazzle stick on the fly, in your car, like I did, the first time I tried it to clean my ring. I ended up rinsing my hand out the car window with a bottle of water. DOH!)
- For professional steam-cleaning results like you would expect from a jewelry store, try Jewel Jet. I’ve used this specific model of Jewel Jet for over 8 years, and it still works like a charm. You will need to use ammonia for pre-soaking and distilled water for the machine. Always remember to empty any remaining water from the appliance after use to reduce scaling. It’s easy! Just follow these simple directions and your Jewel Jet will last for ages while keeping your bling sparkling clean!
This holiday season, keep ’em fooled by the rocks that you got…clean your bling!
