When salons were forced to close due to the pandemic, many of us had to figure out a new manicure plan for presenting our hands and feet to the world.
Perhaps you had a conversation that said, “Self? You better learn to do your own manicure.”
After saying goodbye to professional SNS manicures and pedicures, now what do we do?!
I decided to take a cue from the local news that airs a segment called “Silver Linings.”
With all the bad news airing on television, this show features some good news during the pandemic.
So here is some fun, light-hearted, good news for you during this time of uncertainty.
You can find a “silver lining” with your mani/pedi practice, and develop a new hobby at home in quarantine.
The results come from the help of a company called Olive & June.
Whether you’re in their salons (when they’re open) or using their line of nail products at home, they exist to make mani magic happen.
Initially, I found and purchased some Olive & June polish at my local Target store.
But when I ordered The Into You Box on the Olive & June website, I discovered that they also offer an online Mani-Bootcamp and a Mani Masterclass.
Disclaimer: I am not an affiliate of Olive & June.
I just love the opportunity to share some good news!
Now, every Sunday, I encourage you to join me by taking time out for yourself while resisting perfectionism.
Select a bright, cheerful polish color for your manicure to add a spark of joy to these hot summer days.
What a simple and fun “silver lining” of quarantine!
But beyond cheerful colors, there are 7 additional silver linings to a self-care, at home, mani/pedi practice. . .
7 Silver Linings Of A Quarantine Manicure:
- A Healthy Option – Olive & June polish is free of 7 harmful chemicals found in nail polish.
- A Safe Option – you can do your manicure in the safety of your own home.
- Long-Lasting Results – the polish lasts 5-7 days, even with frequent hand-washing, hand-sanitizer, and swimming in salt water.
- A Meditative Practice – the process of doing your own nails at home forces you to slow down and relax.
- Salon Quality Results– with practice, others will see your mani/pedi and swear you’d been to a salon.
- Learn New Skills – the online classes can help you learn new skills, with the addition of stickers and nail art designs.
- Significant Savings – you can save up to $3,000 annually by doing your nails at home (averaging $125 per salon mani/pedi + tip, bi-monthly.)
The savings alone is good news worth sharing!
But the best silver lining of all?
Even with my shorter nails, you can still give someone you love a good back-scratch!

There is more. . .Become more. . .YOU are more! Let’s show the world how to do that together.
