I think it’s rather extreme to compare sitting to smoking. These kinds of conditions such as obesity develop develop in an environment where a lot of factors are involved, for example, poor food choices, stress, consuming products that have all sorts of contaminants etcc

    • The point of the study was to convey that when a person is sitting, the processes of the breakdown of fat and sugars stall in the body. In turn, health risks increase. It may sound extreme to compare it to smoking, Mashal. But according to the Mayo Clinic, it’s an increased risk up to 125% of cardiovascular disease, such as chest pain (angina) or heart attack. The solution is to stand and actively move to kick these processes back into action.
